-German Club meets todat after school in Learning Cottage 1

-The Literature Appreciation Club will have its first meeting on Thursday, September 27th.  All students are welcome. Mrs. Avery's room, B123

-The first Fellowship of Christian Athletes' Mtg will be held Tuesday, September 25th in room A112 @ 7:15 am.

-Friends of Rachel Club will be selling luminaries for $1.00 to honor 2 Jaguar families.  Luminaries will be sold during all four lunches.

-Fayetteville State University is hosting a Fall Preview on October 13th.  Application fees waived for all attendees.  Students registered can join the FSU football game for free at 2:00 p.m.  in Bronco Stadium.  See Ms. Connolly to register.

-GSA members will have a GSA meeting September 25th at 3:05 in Ms. Dickerson's room B122.

-There will be a brief interest meeting for Forestview's new film society today after school in Mr. Sandlins room, B128

Wednesday, September 19

-"Jungle" members would you like to ride a bus to the Crest game Friday? If you are interested see Mr. Froneberger in room D125. Cost will be $5.00 Sign up Wednesday.  The Jungle Bus will be fun! First come, First serve.

-There will be a brief meeting for Relay for Life Wednesday in D127.  The meeting will be in Mr Comb's room.

-Any student interested in joining the Junior Civitans, please turn in your forma nd $20 dues to Mrs. Rouse by Friday, September 21. First meeting will be on Tuesday, September 25th

-German Club will meet on September 24 in LC1 after school $8 dues. If you are interested in holding an office please come and see Frau Schmid-Rankin fter school and fill out application.


-The Jag Grill will be tailgating before and after all home games (until 11:00pm) They will have several corn-holes and will be running specials on their sides. (Fried pickles, corn poppers and more. They serve a variety of menu items as well as ice cream' and they would love to hear suggestions from the Forestview students and staff.

-Students who are interested in the University of Virginia. An associate Dean of Admissions and a panel of recent graduates will be holding a presentation about the University and their admissions process. Thursday, October 4th at 6:30 Downtown Charlotte. Come by guidance for more information.

-Cancer Services of Gaston County is in the process of selecting members for its Youth Advisory Council. Cancer Services of Gaston County values the thoughts and opinions of our local youth and invited your involvement. Candidates for the council should be interested in participating in advocacy work to promote the dangers of tobacco use and be willing and able to attend meetings and participate in activites. If interested, see Ms. Walters in Guidance for applications.

Seniors have a designated lot, if you are not a senior do not park in the yellow marked area or you may be towed.

-Foreign Language Travel- Experience an adventure that is educational! Gastonia Sister Cities is now accepting applications for our 2012-2013 Germany or Peru exchange program. You must be currently enrolled in at least German 1 to travel to Germany and at least Spanish 1 to travel to Peru. Students will attend classes twice a month to learn about the history and culture of their chosen country and then travel to that country and stay with host families for 2 weeks in June 2013. Enrollment is limited for this program, so please act quickly. Applications are available online or at The City of Gastonia, with your guidance counselor or your Spanish/German teachers.
