-There will be a brief but important THESPIAN SOCIETY meeting in Mrs. Spivey's room today at 3:00

-FAFSA REMINDER: If you are attending college next year, it is extremely important for you to complete the free application for Federal Student Aid. Applications are processed on a first-come basis, so timing is critical. Also, many colleges use the FAFSA to award scholarship money. If you have not started the process, you need to see your counselor immediately for information.

-HUMAN RELATIONS will meet today at 3:00 in the main conference room.

-WRESTLING PRACTICE today from 6:15 until 7:30. Also, Congratulations to the Wrestling team for their win over Crest.

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship: If you are planning to compete for the Byrd Scholarship, you must let Mr. Collins know your intent by tomorrow. Students should be ranked in the top 5% of the senior class and must have a combined SAT score of 1900 or better.
Veteran Scholarships: If you are the son or daughter of a parent who has served in military combat, you may qualify for scholarship money. See Mr. Collins for more information.

JUNIORS: Applications for the DISCOVER CARD SCHOLARSHIP are now available in the guidance office. Applications must be received by January 31st. Eligible students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and a strong record of community service. Awards range from $2,500 to $25,000 dollars. Once again, this scholarship is only open to current juniors.

-EOC REVIEW: January 2-4, January 7-11

-Congratulations to the WRESTLING TEAM for their win over York High School and Monticello High School. Justin Privett-4th place, Onkevious Thomas-3rd place, Kyle Bradley-3rd place, Zach Brown-3rd place, Jordan Brooks-2nd place.

-There will be a MOCK TRIAL meeting Thursday night from 7:00-9:00 at the law office of Bill Moore. See Mrs. Crabtree on Thursday for directions.

-FALL SPORTS BANQUET: Thursday, January 10 @ 6:30. All fall athletes eat free, but their guests must pay $5.00. See Coach Stewart or Mrs. Smith for advanced tickets.

-There will be an athletic speed, agility, and quickness combine on Saturday, January 12. Registration begins @ 9:30 am. Pick up a brochure from Mrs. Smith in the office.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now available on-line. College bound seniors must apply in order to be considered for need-based financial aid. Completion and submission of the FAFSA could qualify your student for a federal PELL Grant, low interest student loan, and work study.
