-Gaston College would like to offer Huskins College Gateway college credit courses in biology, business and/or criminal justice at Forestview during the 11-12 year. Sufficient numbers of students must be enrolled in each class in order for the courses to be offered. State funding is pending. In order to be placed on the waiting list, students must succesfully pass either the COMPASS test or have scored a minimum of 500 (Verbal or Critical Reading) on the SAT. -Students interested in attending an academic or arts summer camp this summer at Lee's McRae College please see Ms. Boswell. They are offering scholarships for student's to be able to attend the camps.
-Afternoon Bus 357 Changes for Remainder of this year: Bus 357 students on Maple Crest will now ridge Bus 146. Students on Union Terrace and Iris Dr. will ride Bus 120. Students on Patrick Rd will ride Bus 27. Students on Bud Wilson Rd will ride Bus 98.
-It is very Important that School Procedures are followed when dropping off or picking up from school. The Policy states that all Students should use the front entrance or student parking lot doors.
-If you plan to take an NCVPS on-line course, you must complete an application packet. Once the packet is complete, your name will be added to the waiting list.

-Appalachian State University is offering its 4th Forensic Science Camp this summer: July 6-9 and July 20-23.
This camp is for those students with a strong background in science who are interested in pursuing a career as a forensic analyst or who are just curious about the field. See Mr. Bennett in Guidance for more information.
-Students..If you need additional help in any of your classes. Peer tutoring will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00 in B106. A late bus runs these days and leaves Forestview at 4:30

-GASTON YOUTH CONNECTED (GYC) is a partnership to help Gaston County develop and implement a community-wide approach to preventing teen pregnancy. If you are interested in serving on the Teen Advisory Board, see Mr. Bennett in guidance for more information.
-SENIORS planning to attend college for the 2011-12 year should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Completing the FAFSA may qualify students for Pell Grants, Federal Work Study and low interest student loans. In addition, colleges and universities utilize information on the FAFSA in distributing their need-based financial aid. since tax documentation is necessary for completion of the FAFSA, it is extremely important for you to prepare federal tax forms as early as possible this year. Please check with your potential colleges and universities for filing deadlines. Also, please know that filing the FAFSA is on a first come basis, so do not delay. Applications are available online at www.fafsa.gov.
-Students, please make sure that you are following the dress code policy. Guys...pants must be secured at your waist. Ladies...leggings or tights must have appropriate attire that meet the dollar bill rule over top of them. Also, hoods and hats of any kind are not permitted inside of the building. Please be aware that the dress code is STRICTLY BEING ENFORCED!
