-Cast of Hairspray will meet in Mrs. Alexander's room today immediately after school in her room!

-There will be a Literature Appreciation meeting Thursday, march 1st in ms. Avery's room after school to discuss our book, please be sure to have the entire novel read before our next meeting.

Commissioner's School challenges selected participants to better understand themselves, life in Gaston county, and their roles as future leaders. Through seminars, problem-solving activities, simulations, field trips to visit community

-Hats are not to be worn in the building
-Pants must be secured at your waist
-Shorts, skirts and dresses must meet the dollar bill rule
-Sleeveless, spaghetti or halter tops are not to be worn
-Book bags can not be carried between classes. The only book bag that can be
carried is the Forestview mesh bag. Can be purchased for $5 in front office
-Electronic devices are not to be used in the hallways and common areas.
-Cell phones must be off and not visible during the school day

-The Gaston County Schools 1st annual college expo will be held this Saturday, Feb 18th at the Gaston County Convention Center in Downtown Gastonia. Admission is free, and the time is 10am-3pm. College Reps from over 25 schools will be in attendance and breakout information sessions will take place throughout the day. We hop to see you there!

-Summer Ventures in Science and Math- Attention 10th and 11th graders interested in pursuing a career based in science and/or math.
Applications are being accepted for Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics-a four week summer residential program offered on six campuses of the University of North Carolina system. This is a great opportunity for high achieving science and math oriented students to live and study on a university campus, cost free, during the summer. Applications are to be completed on-line at www.summerventures.org. Applications are due by midnight on January 31st. For more information, see Ms. Walters in guidance.

-Juveniles Diabetes Awareness Club will meet Tuesday, February 7th directly after school. The meeting will be in Mrs. Lyon's room, D104. Club photos will be taken for the yearbook.

We will discuss the set design, backstage and technical positions. We also need graphic artists, that can do some specialized painting of scenery pieces.
