-Please be reminded that NO OUTSIDE DELIVERIES OF FOOD OR DRINK are accepted for students. Also, NO VISITORS to students are allowed during school hours.

-Please don't forget this is the last week to qualify for the $165 spa package give-away for the teacher that submits the most PTA memberships collected from their 1st period class. A mailer was sent home to every parent last week inviting them to join the PTA for only $10 so remind your students to bring it back this week. Please write your name on the application to receive credit. Also have students check out our website to order cool posters or portraits using their favorite photos. These make a great gift for family and friends too!

-The APPARREL II CLASS will be selling Bangin' Belts this week during all lunches. You can purchase one for $6.

-Attention 10TH AND 11TH GRADERS interested in pursuing a career based in SCIENCE and/or MATH! Applications are being accepted for SUMMER VENTURES IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS-a four-week summer residential program offered on six campuses of the University of North Carolina system. This is a great opportunity for high achieving science and math oriented students to live and study on a university campus, cost free, during the summer. For applications and more information, see Mr. Bennett in guidance. Completed application materials are to be returned to Mr. Bennett by January 15, 2010.

-Attention ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB AND PROJECT CAPE:11: There will be a BRIEF meeting TODAY after school in Coach Strothmann's room.

-Congratulations to the Forestview Wrestling Team. The following wrestlers placed in the North Lincoln Wrestling tournament on Saturday, December 12, 2009:119 pound weight class – Montavius Jeter-3rd place; 160 pound weight class – Cody Stadler-3rd place; 130 pound weight class – Collin Munson 2nd place; 145 pound weight class – Tyrecus Jeter-2nd place.

-In order to ride your bus, you must be on the bus before the bus starts moving. If a bus has already started to move, you cannot try and catch a moving bus. This is a serious safety issue and breaking this rule could cause you to lose your bus riding privileges. If you do happen to miss your bus, there is a late bus that leaves the school around 4:15.

-SENIORS: With the busy holiday season, scholarship deadlines have a way of quickly passing. You should be very attentive to upcoming scholarship deadlines. Unfortunately, some scholarships are not sensitive to the holiday calendar, so planning is key. Prepare yourself for scholarships with December or January deadlines. Make sure you request letters of recommendation and other scholarship components at least a week in advance.

-C-CATS, Clemson's Challenge for Academically Talented Students, is a program designed specifically for high achieving 9th and 10th grade students. C-CATS introduces students to Clemson University through exciting weekend adventures that engage them in the academic, social and recreational best Clemson has to offer. This program is limited to students in the top 10% of their class ranking. Mr. Bennett in guidance will submit Forestview nominations on December 10. See him if you are interested in being nominated.

-Students! Don't forget to buy your FHS PARKING PASSES! If you need one come to the front office. We reserve the right to TOW ANY VEHICLE that is parked in the student parking lot without a pass.

-Order your YEARBOOK early and pay less! If you order between October 5 through November 5 it's only $55 plus tax. If you order between November 9-December 9 the cost is $65 plus tax. If you order between December 14 and February 21 the cost is $65 plus tax. If you order after February 22 the cost is $75 plus tax. All orders placed before February 22 can be ordered online through Forestview's website (click on Yearbook icon). All orders after February 22 must be placed with Mrs. Slentz (not Jostens).

CLUB INFO:
-The FORESTSVIEW BROADCASTING CLUB meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 7:18 am in B104.

-The Forestview BIBLE CLUB would like to invite all interested students to our weekly meetings. Join us every Wednesday in the gym at 7:15 am. If you would like more information about joining the BIBLE CLUB please see Mr. Collins.

-BIBLE CLUB REMINDER: Union Presbyterian Church would like to invite all interested students to their weekly student prayer breakfast. You can join them every Tuesday morning @ 7:15 am in the Union Presbyterian fellowship hall. If you have questions, please see Mr. Collins.
