-STUDENTS: If you have any MEDICINE in the front office please pick it up ASAP! If you do not pick it up by Tuesday, June 9 it will be disposed of.

-Students: If you received an ACADEMIC AWARD but were unable to attend the Award Ceremony, please come by the office after school or during lunches to get your award or certificate.

-Students signed up for ENGLISH 11AP need to pick up the summer reading packet from Mrs. Lewis in B122. Summer reading is mandatory for English 11 AP.

-Students who are taking AP ENGLISH 12 next year need to see Ms. Griffin in room B120 about summer reading assignments. Summer reading is not optional.

-SENIORS still wanting to purchase a graduation DVD, including other senior events, can see Mrs. Crenshaw in guidance. Sales will continue up until Graduation day. Don't miss out on the opportunity to preserve this special event in your life.

-The 4th Annual FHS Basketball Camp will be June 22-25 from 9:00-am to 12:00 pm for rising 4th through 9th graders (boys and girls). -Students please be mindful of the Gaston County School Attendance Policy. A student can miss no more than 10 days within a semester without violating the attendance policy. Also, if you are absent please bring a note within 2 days of returning to school. This can be from a doctor, parents, or other agency that states the reason for you not being in attendance at school. This note will determine if your absence is excused or unexcused. Finally, remember prom and athletics uses attendance as one of the variables to determine eligibility.

Make sure that ladies wear a dress or skirt underneath the gown with dress shoes or sandals and young men please wear dark slacks or kakis with dark shoes. NO FLIP FLOPS! This is great practice for next Saturday's event on June 13, GRADUATION DAY. Students with questions about graduation attire, practice, or ceremony please direct those questions to Mrs. Rouse or Ms. Rice. Please park in the rear of the church. No cars will be allowed to park in front. The front is for drop-off only. SENIORS...if you would like to purchase a cord or stole you can purchase during lunch or after school in the front office thru Friday.

*****ENGLISH 10 (SLENTZ) JUNE 3 Review for 1st & 2nd Period, JUNE 4 Exam for 1st period 8:00-11:30, JUNE 5 Exam for 2nd period 8:00-11:30. Students exempt English 10 exam (Slentz) will be notified by Mon., June 1. Exempt students will be based on the absences according to the periods they missed from her classes and according to the rules for exemptions in the student guidelines. 10th grade students will be informed of the results from their State Writing Test as soon as they arrive.


-Students: If you received an ACADEMIC AWARD but were unable to attend the Award Ceremony, please come by the office after school or during lunches to get your award or certificate.

-Students signed up for ENGLISH 11AP need to pick up the summer reading packet from Mrs. Lewis in B122. Summer reading is mandatory for English 11 AP.

-Students who are taking AP ENGLISH 12 next year need to see Ms. Griffin in room B120 about summer reading assignments. Summer reading is not optional.

-Students who have registered for AP ENGLISH 10 must get their summer reading requirements from Mr. Thomas in room B121 no later than Wednesday, June 3.

-SOFTBALL PLAYERS: Please turn your uniform in to Coach Waid by Wednesday, June 3.

-The make-up induction ceremony for NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY will be held TODAY, June 1, immediately after school in Mrs. Lewis's room (B122). Those who did not attend the formal induction ceremony are required to attend the make-up ceremony.

-The 4th Annual FHS Basketball Camp will be June 22-25 from 9:00-am to 12:00 pm for rising 4th through 9th graders (boys and girls). -Students please be mindful of the Gaston County School Attendance Policy. A student can miss no more than 10 days within a semester without violating the attendance policy. Also, if you are absent please bring a note within 2 days of returning to school. This can be from a doctor, parents, or other agency that states the reason for you not being in attendance at school. This note will determine if your absence is excused or unexcused. Finally, remember prom and athletics uses attendance as one of the variables to determine eligibility.
