You must be currently enrolled in at least German 1 to travel to Germany and at least Spanish 1 to travel to Peru. Students will attend classes twice a month to learn about the history and culture of their chosen country and then travel to that country and stay with host families for 2 weeks in June 2013. Enrollment is limited for this program, so please act quickly. Applications are available online or at The City of Gastonia, with your guidance counselor or your Spanish/German teachers.

When you receive a JAG card you will get a five dollar rebate if you come by the main office and show Mrs. Smith or Mr. Evans. Parking will be first come, first serve. Seniors have a designated lot, if you are not a senior do not park in the yellow marked area or you may be towed. Passes will be on sale during lunch periods until Friday of this week. After Friday, you may not park without a Forestview parking pass.

-Prom tickets go on sale the week of April 17th (the week after spring break) at lunch. The cost is $15 for seniors, $55 for all others. Guest tickets can not be purchased without a copy of the Guest ID and the correct form filled out and signed. -All Renaissance Card Holders- Thursday, April 5th we will have our Renaissance Treat which will be held during 4th period. Only students holding a Renaissance Card will be dismissed from class to attend. Please remember to bring your cards and have them with you at all times.

-Enviromental Club will meet Tuesday, March 13 in Mrs. Crabtree's room at 3:00

-Literature Appreciation members please make sure you have bought your book, Wither and have read half of it by the next meeting on March 22
-The Ronnie Davis yearbook t-shirt will be $7.00 each and you must order and pay by Thursday, March 15, 2012. Bring your money to Ms. Slentz's room B103
-Any Qualified student interested in Health Sciences II and Nursing Fundamentals courses for 2012-2013 should see Mrs. Dawn Hall for an application. Please note that the deadline for completed applications is March 14th.
-This is a reminder that all 11th grade students will be taking the ACT on Tuesday, March 6th. Please remember to report directly to your testing location which is posted by the clock and in B Hall. You will need a calculator and cell phones will not be allowed in the testing room. Please be on time and ready to test.
-Students can order yearbooks at www.jostensyearbooks.com until April 30th. The cost is $80 including tax and shipping.
-Attention 9th graders: Forestview is now accepting applications to attend the Commissioners' School of Excellence from June 17th-29th this summer at Belmont Abbey College. Commissioner's School challenges selected participants to better understand themselves, life in Gaston county, and their roles as future leaders. Through seminars, problem-solving activities, simulations, field trips to visit community
-Students please be aware of the following rules/procedures:
-Hats are not to be worn in the building
-Pants must be secured at your waist
-Shorts, skirts and dresses must meet the dollar bill rule
-Sleeveless, spaghetti or halter tops are not to be worn
-Book bags can not be carried between classes. The only book bag that can be
carried is the Forestview mesh bag. Can be purchased for $5 in front office
-Electronic devices are not to be used in the hallways and common areas.
-Cell phones must be off and not visible during the school day
-It is very Important that School Procedures are followed when dropping off or picking up from school. The Policy states that all Students should use the front entrance or student parking lot doors.
