-EOC TUTORING for students with ASD assignments: Students who wish to receive credit for serving ASD while attending EOC Review, tutoring, or make-up should report to B119 immediately after school to pick up a pass from Mrs. Bost and return it to B119 when finished.

-The Drivers Ed class originally set up for Tuesday, January 6th – 21st has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 27th through Tuesday, February 10th. If you signed up for the January Drivers Ed class please make note of this important change. January’s Drivers Ed class will start Tuesday January 27th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Carson in the front office.

-2nd Annual JONATHAN HOVIS BASEBALL CAMP will be held December 22, 2008 at Forestview for ages 6-14 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm rain or shine. Camp cost is $50 and a $10 discount is available for siblings. Pre-Registration ends December 10 and prices will increase $5 per session. Registration forms are in the front office. Camp will include: Hitting mechanics, bunting, base running, infield drills, proper footwork, outfield drills, pitching mechanics, pitching training drills and conditioning, catcher mechanics, catcher blocking, strength and conditioning. Any questions please contact Brian Horne at jbhorne@gaston.k12.nc.us.

-On Saturday, December 20 your FHS basketball teams are playing at Time Warner Cable Arena before a Bobcats game. The Jags are playing Freedom who is ranked in the Charlotte Observer Sweet Sixteen for both girls and boys. The girls will tip off at 12:30 pm followed by the boys at 2:30 pm. At 7:00 that night the Bobcats will face the Golden State Warriors. The cost for all three games will be $20 and the tickets will be sold at lunch beginning Wednesday or you can see Coach Gurganus to pick them up. This is a true holiday bargain to see two great high school games and a Bobcats game for $20. Any questions see Coach Gurganus. There is a limited number of tickets so purchase them soon.

The Jags are playing Freedom who is ranked in the Charlotte Observer Sweet Sixteen for both girls and boys. The girls will tip off at 12:30 pm followed by the boys at 2:30 pm. At 7:00 that night the Bobcats will face the Golden State Warriors. The cost for all three games will be $20 and the tickets will be sold at lunch beginning Wednesday or you can see Coach Gurganus to pick them up. This is a true holiday bargain to see two great high school games and a Bobcats game for $20. Any questions see Coach Gurganus. There is a limited number of tickets so purchase them soon.

-On Saturday, December 20 your FHS basketball teams are playing at Time Warner Cable Arena before a Bobcats game. The Jags are playing Freedom who is ranked in the Charlotte Observer Sweet Sixteen for both girls and boys. The girls will tip off at 12:30 pm followed by the boys at 2:30 pm. At 7:00 that night the Bobcats will face the Golden State Warriors. The cost for all three games will be $20 and the tickets will be sold at lunch beginning Wednesday or you can see Coach Gurganus to pick them up. This is a true holiday bargain to see two great high school games and a Bobcats game for $20. Any questions see Coach Gurganus. There is a limited number of tickets so purchase them soon.

C-CATS introduces students to Clemson University through exiting weekend adventures that engage them in the academic, social and recreational best Clemson has to offer. This program is limited to students in the top 10% of their class ranking. Mr. Bennett in student services will submit Forestview nominations on December 8. -2nd Annual JONATHAN HOVIS BASEBALL CAMP will be held December 22, 2008 at Forestview for ages 6-14 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm rain or shine. Camp cost is $50 and a $10 discount is available for siblings. Pre-Registration ends December 10 and prices will increase $5 per session. Registration forms are in the front office. Camp will include: Hitting mechanics, bunting, base running, infield drills, proper footwork, outfield drills, pitching mechanics, pitching training drills and conditioning, catcher mechanics, catcher blocking, strength and conditioning. -On Saturday, December 20 your FHS basketball teams are playing at Time Warner Cable Arena before a Bobcats game. The Jags are playing Freedom who is ranked in the Charlotte Observer Sweet Sixteen for both girls and boys. The girls will tip off at 12:30 pm followed by the boys at 2:30 pm. At 7:00 that night the Bobcats will face the Golden State Warriors. The cost for all three games will be $20 and the tickets will be sold at lunch beginning Wednesday or you can see Coach Gurganus to pick them up. This is a true holiday bargain to see two great high school games and a Bobcats game for $20. Any questions see Coach Gurganus. There is a limited number of tickets so purchase them soon.

CHARACTER EDUCATION TRAIT FOR DECEMBER: KINDNESS

-There will be a HIGH Q practice TODAY in B118. Old and new members are welcome.

-SOFTBALL CONDITIONING starts Monday, December 8, at 3:30 pm. Meet in room D140 dressed to work out. If you cannot attend, stop by Miss Waid's room for a calendar for December.

-This is a final reminder for 9th and 10th graders interested in attending the Clemson Challenge for Academically Talented Students (that's CATS). Mr. Bennett, in guidance, will be submitting our nominations on Friday. You must see him by the end of the day tomorrow (Thursday, Dec 4) if you are interested.


-Anyone interested in purchasing a LETTER JACKET, please see Coach Medlin in B117.

-The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange SCHOLARSHIP is a fully paid scholarship which allows you to spend one year in Germany. You will live in a German family, go to a German High School, learn German, and learn much about international diplomacy. German language skills are NOT a requirement. Requirements are as follows: 3.0 GPA; 15-18 years old; turn in application by December 16, 2008. See Mr. Collins or Frau Schmid-Rankin in room B116 after school if interested.

-With the busy Holiday season, you should be very attentive to upcoming scholarship deadlines. Pay special attention to deadlines that may come during the Christmas break. Make sure you request letters of recommendation and other scholarship components at least a week in advance. Remember to get all the information you need before we leave for the winter break.
