CHARACTER EDUCATION TRAIT OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY: GOOD JUDGEMENT

-REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS!!! BOOK BAGS MUST REMAIN IN YOUR LOCKERS!!!!

-Please be reminded that NO OUTSIDE DELIVERIES OF FOOD OR DRINK are accepted for students. Also, NO VISITORS to students are allowed during school hours.

-Are you a RISING JUNIOR OR SENIOR who enjoys working on the computer, taking photographs or writing? Are you interested in being on the award-winning JAG RAG NEWSPAPER staff next year? If so, Mrs. Gerow is looking for motivated, responsible, hard-working students for the staff next year. If these apply to you, fill out an application and return to Mrs. Gerow by February 17 in room B103 during 3rd period. Applications are located on the door of room B103. If you have any questions, please ask an existing newspaper staff member or see Mrs. Gerow during 3rd period.

-Attention all FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA members. There is a mandatory meeting in Mrs. Avery's room (B123) on Thursday, February 4. If you cannot attend, please see Mrs. Avery or any officers.

-Anyone interested in HIGH Q, a QUIZ BOWL TEAM involved competition, see Ms. Garahan in B121 after school TODAY or Monday. There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, February 2nd.

-All HOSA MEMBERS planning to go to competition at Gaston College must see Mrs. Hall TODAY. If there is inclement weather on Saturday, Gaston College might close, canceling the HOSA EVENT. The announcement will be on the Gaston College Website at www.gaston.edu by 6:00 am Saturday morning.

-The SATURDAY DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS AT ASHBROOK has been CANCELED for this Saturday, January 30. The class will resume on Saturday, February 6.

-The HOUSE OF MERCY is a residential program for persons in Gaston County living with HIV/AIDS. If you are interested in joining a group of Forestview students in volunteer opportunities at the House of Mercy, you are invited to a meeting in Mrs. Crabtree's classroom on Thursday, February 4 immediately after school. Questions? See Mrs. Crabtree or Kellie Hunnicutt.

-There will be a brief STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING after school TODAY, January 29. See Mrs. Baker if you cannot attend.

The deadline is February 19, 2010.

-Please be reminded that NO OUTSIDE DELIVERIES OF FOOD OR DRINK are accepted for students. Also, NO VISITORS to students are allowed during school hours.

-There will be a brief HOSA MEETING on Wednesday, January 6. If you are participating in competition, you must bring money. If you cannot attend the meeting, please turn your money in to Mrs. hall by January 6.

-Students interested in NORTH CAROLINA A&T UNIVERSITY: Come on out to AGGIE NIGHTS which is a reception for Prospective students, parents, and alumni. The local Aggie Night program will be held on Thursday, January 21 at 7:00 pm at Hilton Charlotte University Place. See Mrs. Connolly in Guidance for further questions.

-WOMEN'S SOCCER OPEN FIELDS Wednesday and Thursday this week on practice field from 3:30-4:30. Dress warmly!

This is a great opportunity for high achieving science and math oriented students to live and study on a university campus, cost free, during the summer. For applications and more information, see Mr. Bennett in guidance. Completed application materials are to be returned to Mr. Bennett by January 15, 2010.
