Also, if you are absent please bring a note within 2 days of returning to school. This can be from a doctor, parents, or other agency that states the reason for you not being in attendance at school. This note will determine if your absence is excused or unexcused. Finally, remember prom and athletics uses attendance as one of the variables to determine eligibility.

-This is a message from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Traffic collisions are the leading cause of teenage deaths in North Carolina and our nation. Last year, 125 teenagers were killed in the state's highways. Many collisions involving teenage drivers occur during their commute to and from high school. Speed continues to be the leading causation factor for these deaths. OPERATION DRIVE TO LIVE is during the week of February 23-27, 2009 and State Highway Patrol Troopers will be aggressively enforcing all traffic laws around the high schools. Here are a few reminders: Slow down; avoid distractions like cell phones; limit passengers; use caution at intersections; come to complete stops; use turn signals; don't tailgate; watch for deer and other animals; don't drive when sleepy; obey the move over law for emergency vehicles on the side of roadway; and use you seat belt!
-All BUS RIDERS must exit the building at the bus circle. Please board your bus at the bus stop. Drivers will not stop to allow you to get on the bus once they leave the circle
-Make plans to attend Forestview's Theatre Production of "CINDERELLA" which will be on Friday night, May 8, and two performances on Saturday, May 9.

The winning academy will have their name posted around the school and will be featured on GCS channel 21. Watch the school news 2nd period for a commercial produced by the TV Broadcasting class.
