-Gaston County Schools and the Gaston Gazette are kicking off a new initiative for the school year called "Do the Right Thing," which will recognize students who have made "right" choices and displayed good character by "Doing the Right Thing" in a tough situation. Each month schools in the district will nominate candidates for recognition. Winning students will be invited to a luncheon, will receive a savings bond and a t-shirt and will also be featured in the Gaston Gazette with their photo. We are pleased to announce that the following students have been nominated for "Doing the Right Thing": Latisha Bradley, Allen Salazar, Derius Mills, Courtney Lowery. Good luck and we hope to offer many new nominees in months to come.

-Any JUNIOR OR SENIOR interested in talking with the Admissions Representative from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke on Tuesday, September 18 should sign up in student services before leaving school.
-There will be an ART HONOR SOCIETY meeting on Thursday, September 27 to vote for officers, plan tailgate, and distribute Bob Timberlake tickets. The meeting will not last more than 30 minutes. To vote for officers you must have paid you $10 dues.
-Only 1 more week until the TAILGATE TICKET SALE DEADLINE! All money and order forms must be turned in by Tuesday, September 25 to qualify for incentives: 1. $100 to the top selling student. 2. Pizza party for the top-selling 2nd period class. 3. Name entered in drawing for Nintindo Wii. 4. Tailgate Kickoff Party-get out of 4th period! -Forestview will host a COLLEGE NIGHT PROGRAM on Tuesday night, September 4 starting at 6 pm. This will be an excellent opportunity for parents and students to talk with college admissions representatives from over 40 colleges and universities. Please make sure you come out and get all of the updated information.
-Applications for the MISS FORESTVIEW PAGEANT 2008 are in the library. The first meeting will be Tuesday, September 4 at 3:05 in the library.
